Our additives are available in both carboxylate and sulfonate chemistries. Both varieties combine extremely small particles sizes with great flowability to allow for rapid and thorough mixing in asphalts or oils resulting in maximum reduction of H2S. Our zinc-based additives scavenge hydrogen sulfide through a non-reversible reaction that forms a permanent zinc sulfide (ZnS) compound and has a lower freezing point than aqueous solutions. This makes our zinc additives very effective at treating sour oil and gas as well as asphalt mixtures. In the same manner, our zinc additives have been shown to abate mercaptans in some refinery applications.

Our nanoparticle technology can simply act as a delivery system for higher levels of suspended zinc. Zinc is also used in the rubber industry to control scorch and cure rates. Zinc additives can aid in improving a variety of properties in the plastics field. Heat resistance and mechanical strength are imparted to acrylic composites along with improved resistance to ultraviolet light of polyethylene.
